A Facelift for Healthcare: Transforming St. Joseph Hospital with Innovative Aluminum Solutions

After the Block Chain Group purchased this building, which had previously been an ordinary medical dispensary, its director, Mr. Sunildi Silva, wanted to convert it into a hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.After handing over the design work to the architectural firm Once Design Studio, they prepared a very attractive design to give the existing building a new look.

At the end of the planning process, a tender was issued for the construction of the front facade of the project. Finally, the Design studio architect firm selected us, Quality Fixed Private Limited, as the most suitable for this project out of eight Aluminium Fabrication companies.

We finally completed the construction of the Front Facade without any changes to the design provided by the architectural firm, no matter how complex it was. We also carried out all the aluminum doors, windows, tempered glass and ceiling work related to the project.

Kids & Teens Medical Group, Asia Corp Holdings and Healthy Life Clinic, announced the re-launch of St. Joseph Hospital, Negombo. Following its recent acquisition, the hospital has undergone an extensive upgrade, refurbishment, and augmentation of medical resources and infrastructure, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of healthcare services in Sri Lanka.

The comprehensive re-development includes the expansion of in-patient beds, a substantial increase in specialist and resident doctors to a total of 45, two state-of-the-art channelling centres, 27 well-equipped channelling rooms, an eye surgery centre, in-house emergency ambulance services, and specialised children’s wards; all facilities spanning across four floors. This strategic expansion positions St. Joseph Hospital to meet the escalating demand for both emergency and elective medical care in Sri Lanka, catering to a broader spectrum of patients in the years to come.

The Challenge

The project presented several challenges:

  • Revitalizing a Historic Building: Transforming an existing building while preserving its character and architectural integrity required careful planning and execution.
  • Meeting High Aesthetic Standards: The hospital's new look needed to be modern, welcoming, and reflective of the high-quality healthcare services it would provide.
  • Ensuring High-Quality and Timely Completion: Meeting tight deadlines and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety were crucial for the project's success.

Our Role

Quality Fixed Pvt Ltd was selected to undertake the critical task of constructing the front facade of the hospital. Our scope of work included:

  • Design and Fabrication of the Front Facade: We meticulously implemented the architect's vision, creating a stunning and modern facade that complemented the hospital's overall aesthetic.
  • Supply and Installation of Aluminium Doors and Windows: We provided and installed high-quality, energy-efficient aluminium doors and windows, ensuring optimal natural light and ventilation while maintaining a secure and comfortable environment.
  • Tempered Glass Work: We incorporated high-quality tempered glass for safety and durability, enhancing the building's aesthetics and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ceiling Work: We installed elegant and functional ceiling systems that improved the hospital's interior ambiance and provided optimal lighting and acoustics.

The Outcome

The transformed St. Joseph Hospital is a testament to our commitment to quality and innovation. Our work on the front facade and other key areas contributed significantly to the hospital's modern and inviting appearance. The successful completion of this project has enhanced the hospital's image and positioned it as a leading healthcare provider in the region.
