Design and Construction of Buildings and Infrastructure Facilities for Faculty of Technology - Rajarata University of Sri Lanka

Design and construction buildings and infrastructure for the Faculty of Technology in Rajarata University. Project is implemented under the Ministry of Education with funding of Asian Development Bank (ADB). Project proposal is to construct Main Buildings including Administration Building & Library, Engineering Technology Block, Core Lab Building and Collaborative Cell, Bio System Block and Laboratory Block, Student Welfare Facility & Auditorium. Other ancillary buildings as substation, Sewerage Treatment Plant, Gate Houses etc. External development is another major work under the project scope; it includes internal Asphalt roads, walk ways, soft and hard landscaping works.

The Challenge

This was a complex project with a significant scope, demanding meticulous planning, precise execution, and adherence to strict quality standards. Challenges included:

  • Meeting Tight Deadlines: The project had a challenging 30-month timeline, requiring efficient coordination and a fast-paced workflow.
  • Ensuring High-Quality Construction: The project demanded the use of high-quality materials and adherence to strict building codes and safety regulations.
  • Coordinating with Multiple Stakeholders: Effective coordination was crucial between the main contractor, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

Our Role

As the specialist aluminium contractor, Quality Fixed Pvt Ltd played a vital role in bringing the vision to life. Our scope of work included:

  • Supply and Installation of Windows and Doors: We provided and installed high-quality, energy-efficient windows and doors for all the buildings, ensuring optimal natural light, ventilation, and security.
  • Architectural Aluminium: We supplied and installed various architectural aluminium elements, including curtain walls, window frames, door frames, and other decorative elements, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the buildings.
  • Meticulous Installation: Our skilled team ensured precise and efficient installation of all aluminium components, adhering to strict quality control measures.

The Outcome

Through meticulous planning, skilled craftsmanship, and a unwavering commitment to quality, we successfully delivered all our work within the stipulated timeframe. The completed Faculty of Technology stands as a testament to modern architectural design, incorporating state-of-the-art facilities for teaching, research, and student life.
